have you tried baking soda? sprinkle some on then leave it overnite. you might have to scrub a little bit in the morning, but toatlly worth it.
Sorta like what Jen said: mix the baking soda with that dawn dish soap and use one of those scrubby brush things on the inside of the mug and TADA!! lol
Cant you use the stuff they sell at starbucks that you can use to clean your coffee maker? Its on the $$ side but it works wonders on mmy coffeemaker.
